3/9/2017 0 Comments Spending Time With FamilyMy favorite times are family times. We love being close to our family and getting to have dinner with them or celebrate birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries. Traveling with friends or getting to see new sights can be exhilarating and eye-opening (and we do this often!), but spending our time with family makes us happiest. We look forward to growing our family through adoption and sharing our child with those who love and support us best!

2/21/2017 0 Comments Staying Busy...One thing we have learned on this journey is that waiting is hard, not knowing is also hard. In order to keep sane, we have been staying quite busy. Last weekend, Lisa helped our local reading association pass out books in our town's Mardi Gras Kid's Parade. She was able to help put over 350 books into kids hands! Lisa also got to spend a day with her niece and nephew, while they beat her at miniature golf. Dave has been working hard on home improvement projects and planning a few concerts in the coming days. Together, we have been taking day trips to the beach, local flea markets, and nearby towns to go shopping or see a show.
We just celebrated 7 years from when we met and started dating. :) This wait may be hard, but it has brought us closer than ever and helped us plan for the future. In the coming months, we have made tentative plans to fly to Texas for Lisa's grandmothers 90th birthday and we hope to make a trip to D.C. also to visit some friends and sight-see. However, all of that is tentative....travel insurance is a great thing! Hopefully you had a great Christmas and New Year! Ours was extremely low key but we made lots of memories. We got to spend time with both sides of the family and made our first gingerbread house. It wasn't pretty, but we hope it becomes an annual tradition and gets a little more intricate each year. Waiting is not easy during the holidays, but friends and family make the time pass by while we wait to be matched.
9/29/2016 0 Comments NurseryWe have started setting up a nursery so that we aren't having to do it last minute and can focus on bonding with the baby. We decided on teal, yellow, and navy as our color palette until we can add decorations that go with our future child's personality.
9/29/2016 0 Comments Journey SouthLast weekend we drove to central Florida to attend a wedding shower for David's nephew and fiance. We spent time helping bake and decorate for the shower and then we got to enjoy some down time playing with this sweet little girl. At the couples wedding shower we attempted to take a picture together, but David struggles to stay serious for pictures. On our way home, we decided to take a detour and stopped by St. Marks Wildlife Refuge to see the lighthouse. While we were there, we got to see plenty of butterflies, deer, an alligator, and a variety of local birds.
